Wi-Fi Handbook: Building 802.11b Wireless Networks (McGraw-Hill Networking Professional)
By Lee Barratt
Connecting your Sony PSP to the internet is very simple. You don't need any extra hardware to get your PSP online.
First of all I would advise that you download the new PSP 4.01 upgrade, this will give your Sony console some more added internet options like the, Go Messenger and an easy internet search option. Once you have downloaded the new update, the next thing you need is a Wi-Fi connection, here's a step by step guide on how to get your PSP online.
1. Enable your PSP's wireless connection, if you don't know how to do this, take a look in your handbook.
2. If your Wi-Fi has a password security option, make sure you know what the password is, you might have to enter your password to allow you to get online.
3. You have to then go to the Network option on your PSP menu. Then scroll down to Internet Browser and click on this option, this will open the browser.
4. Once the browser opens, click on File and next on Address Entry. Using the typing option, enter a webpage you wish to visit.
5. Once you type in your website, the console will then try and connect to the internet. It will now scan for the Wi-Fi connection, enter your password if you have one.
6. Your console will now connect to the internet. It will open on the website you typed in. That's it you will now be online.
You can visit any website you wish, only some will not work like You Tube. The PSP internet Browser doesn't have the ability of playing the You Tube videos.
